Register to Vote

How and where do I register to vote?

Residents of Long Beach, California may contact the City Clerk Department to request a Voter Registration Form.

You must re-register each time you move and you must file one if you have never registered before. You must be registered at least 15 days prior to the election in which you intend to vote. If you do not live in Los Angeles County, please contact the County Registrar of Voters in the county that you reside.

In order to qualify as a registered voter in Los Angeles County or anywhere in California you must be:

  • A citizen of the United States

  • A resident of California

  • 18 years of age or older as of the day of the next election to vote

  • NOT be in prison or on parole for the conviction of a felony
